The Brunauer, Emmet and Teller (BET) method is employed in this technique to determine the surface area of a material by gas adsorption. The dry and degassed samples can then be analysed using a single or multipoint adsorption method for measuring the surface area (m2/g). Nitrogen gas is used as adsorbant in this technique. This surface area analyser can also be used to determine Langmuir surface area, total pore volume by gas adsorption, BJH pore size distrubution and adsorption- disorption curves.
